You were doing your fifth lap in the pool when Kiyohito sat at the built in alcove. He liked to watch you swim, your body glided through the water and not doggy paddling like you had done earlier.
You saw your boyfriend sitting down and you swam over to him, “Hey.”
He watched you, his eyes searching, “Hey.” He saw that your skin was still beautiful. He reached over and kissed you. You sighed into the kiss.
Grabbing the edge you rested for a moment, “Hey Kiyohito. I heard a really funny joke, wanna hear?” you asked. His grey eyes were expressive. “Okay, what kind of car does a makeup artist drive?” you asked.
He cocked his head to the side, “Do tell.”
You giggled at your own stupid joke, “A compact car.”
Kiyohito did not laugh, he watched you. “Is that supposed to be funny?” he asked. He stood and kissed you again.
“I thought it was funny.” You said with a pout.
“I will laugh when you come up with a good joke.”
The entire day you followed Kiyohito telling him stupid jokes.
“How come the Avon lady can’t talk? Cuz her lipstick… “
.
.
.
“Why did the girl bring lipstick and eye shadow to school? She had a make-up exam!”
.
.
.
“What can a model put behind her ears to make her more attractive? Her ankles”
Kiyohito continued to ignore you as he went on about his day.
“Laugh at my jokes. They’re funny and you know it.” You whined.
“I’ll laugh when it’s funny.” He replied, “Now, c’mon. We need to do your hair and makeup.” He was brushing your hair and you sighed, loving how his fingers combed your hair. You closed your eyes and leaned into his touch. That is when your best joke came to mind.
“Okay last joke!”
Kiyohito groaned, “Okay last one for the day….”
You smiled at him in the mirror. “Okay!” Kiyohito stopped his brushing to let you turn around and look him in the eye, “how do you scare an Instagram model?”
Kiyohito rolled his eyes, “How?”
“You call her and say ‘I know what you wore last summer.’”
A twitch at the corner of his lip was seen. He smirked and looked away.
“AH HA! It made you laugh!”
